Whoopi Goldberg has been suspended from The View for two weeks after making comments that “the Holocaust” of Jews by the Germans during the Second World War wasn’t a racial conflict but rather ethnic because both the perpetrators and the victims shared the same white skin color. Goldberg has since apologized, before doubling down on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. To be clear, I care about very little in this story. The View is stupid and literally no one should care about any of Whoopi Goldberg’s opinions on any subject whatsoever. The lesson to be learned here is about the status of racial hierarchy in a dying American society.
I frankly don’t care about Whoopi Goldberg or her opinions on any subject. Her absence from The View doesn’t make any difference to me because it is difficult of conceiving of a greater waste of time than listening to a bunch of harpies talking about politics and society. What is interesting is the manner in which Goldberg is being handled. Her grave sin was to suggest that the conflict between the “Nazi” Germans and the Jews wasn’t racial because both groups were white. Goldberg’s assertion demonstrates the modern confusion and hypocrisy that the conflation of race with mere skin color has brought about. Many people, especially Christian pastors and clergy, attempt to trivialize the reality and importance of race by making it into a mere question of superficial and external characteristics.
At the same time, the reason that Goldberg sought to deny the racial difference between Jews and Germans is because she understands the importance that race plays in twenty-first century America. Racism is considered to be the central moral issue upon which all other wicked “isms” and phobias find their source. If the purported suffering of the Jews wasn’t caused by “racism” but mere inter-ethnic strife as Goldberg maintains, then this would rank their grievance against white people below black enslavement. Predictably, Jews aren’t having any of it.
It has been made abundantly clear to Goldberg that she is not in a position to lump Jews in with the evil white race. Of course, individual Jews can and do identify as white, usually for the purpose of denouncing “their” white privilege, but will at the same time claim the mantle of Jewish victimhood, which is to be understood as unsurpassed by the sufferings of any other people in history. As Michael Hoffman has so presciently put it, in Judaism, “the Holocaust” replaces Calvary as the central event of human history. Whoopi Goldberg ran afoul of the (((powers that be))) and had to be put in her place.
Interestingly enough, the chastisement of Goldberg also corresponds to the public shaming of Joe Rogan, in part because of his questioning the mainstream COVID narrative regarding the need for “vaccination” and the use of therapeutics, but also for clips of him using the dread and sacred N-word without being duly authorized. The messaging seems to be that blacks like Whoopi Goldberg should not attempt to usurp the place of Jews in the new world order, while at the same time signaling that the same (((powers that be))) have their back against evil white men like Joe Rogan as long as they toe the line.
Finally, this whole spectacle is characteristic of a dying society. Post-modern America and the West in general are defined by grievances. Identity is primarily the expression of perceived victimization at the hands of the evil straight white majority. Critical theory and critical race theory attempt to arrange society into a hierarchy based upon victimization. This in part drives white people to seek out identities with privileged victim groups. Whites identify themselves by sexual perversions like sodomy or identify as the wrong biological sex. Other whites like Elizabeth Warren identify as American Indians based upon dubious claims of remote Indian ancestry.
Healthy and flourishing societies have a healthy sense of identity that acknowledges God as the source of national blessing while celebrating members who positively contribute to the well-being of the broader community. The settlers of Jamestown, the Pilgrim Fathers, those who fought for independence, and the pioneers who conquered the Western frontier were praised for the sacrifices that they made for future generations, not for pity they demanded based upon perceived injustices committed against them. This whole affair with Whoopi Goldberg is simply another symptom of our dying civilization. Don’t wallow in self-pity over being a victim even though we whites have far more legitimate grievances than the world will ever acknowledge this side of the final judgment. Instead we should imitate the wise and noble example of our pioneer ancestors and do whatever it takes to secure the existence of future generations our descendants.
